SAME expresses its solidarity with students outraged against the string of racist incidents at UCSD in the last weeks.

Date/Time:
03/04/2010 - 5:30pm

SAME sees attacks on any oppressed class of people as part of a ingrained system that works to divide and conquer working class people--lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgendered people, people of color, immigrants, women, people of minority faith, people with disabilities--who otherwise could and often do naturally find solidarity among one-another, and who with the right level of consciousness can learn to act in unison for the social justice of all people against the forces that try to oppress us.

Jose Medina, our Secretary, will be delivering a copy of this letter in person to BSU students at their March 4th Rally tomorrow morning in front of the Chancellor's Office at 9:30AM.  We proudly stand with students demonstrating and organizing against not only the string of racist incidents at UCSD in the last weeks, but also against the continued failure of an administration to respond in any meaningful manner to the inital acts after they occurred, thereby allowing similar acts to continue, as they have done even through this week.
